Fetters of iron are the best kind of chains and the iron collar isthe worst kind. Fetters are indicative of steadfastness in religious commitment. The dream interpreters regard this as a basic principle with regard to fetters being indicative of steadfastness in religion and signifying that the situation the dreamer is in, in real life, is going to continue. If he is sick, his sickness will last for a long time; if he is grieving, his grief will last for a long time; if he is happy, his happiness will last for a long time; and so on. Moreover, if the fetters are made of iron, that is indicative of steadfastness in religious commitment,because Allah says:
“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah.
If they are made of lead, that is indicative of steadfastness in something that he dislikes. If they are made of silver, then it will steadfast in going ahead with a marriage proposal. If they are gold,that indicates that he is waiting for lost property to come back to him. If they are wood, that indicates that he is persisting in hypocrisy,hatred and malicious gossip. If they are made of thread or cloth, hiss teadfastness will be in something baseless. If he is happy it will not last and if he is sad it will not last and he will soon find relief. If he dreams that he was chained to another man, he will commit sin for which he will fear a ruler’s vengeance, because Allah says:
